latest challenge

Newest challenge for rookiepainter, 8 x 10 acrylic. This really was a quick, fairly straightforward, relatively easy, not a lot of paint involved painting. I only painted one of the two photos I posted, but I think I might attempt the other in the next couple of days if I have time because it was difficult to choose only one.
For this painting, I decided to try a loose sketch first. I realized after doing so that I didn't want to sketch it again onto the canvas, so I splurged and bought some transfer paper.
Unfortunately, the sketch book I used has paper that is WAAAAY too thick for even transfer paper to leave an impression, so I had to trace the image first onto tissue paper, then commence to tracing once again using the tissue paper copy.
Because I like to live on the edge, I used a pen to trace the image. It looked bumpy and I wasn't impressed to say the least.
But once I lifted the tissue and transfer papers, I was pleasantly surprised at how it was fairly clean looking. Not too bad for what I used to consider a cheat method. Now I consider it a cheating time method.
After a bit of paint and a bit more patience, this is what I ended up with. I'm fairly happy with it, but as always, as soon as I take a photo of the finished product I see issues with it. I'm certainly not going to voluntarily point them out, but they're there, just the same. I really like working with angles and simple, crisp objects, so maybe I will actually paint that second one!
